For years I have wrestled with writing a song about the cross.  So many times I started but felt like I still didn’t know what I really wanted to say about it.  I searched my upbringing for what I was missing but eventually one day I just sat down at the piano & the simplest song fell out in complete gratitude for what Jesus did  for me.  I recorded it the same day & the original demo vocal take ended up staying on the final EP version of this track because I felt it captured the emotional intensity of that moment when I’d just written the song.
